AnticipationGuide
An anticipation guide is similar to a 3-level guide. The anticipation guide, or AG, gets a strategic reader thinking about content, prior to reading.
The AG combines your background knowledge with evaluation of a topic. If you agree with a statement, you place a check next to it and explain your reasoning in the space. If you disagree with a statement, you leave it blank, but you still give supporting reasons for leaving it blank.
When you've answered all statements, you discuss with a small group and try to agree on what should be checked or left blank.
Next, read the article or selection that accompanies the AG. Along the way, make any changes that you believe may be appropriate, based on what you've read.
